Dionicio Loya Plancarte (a.k.a: El Tío) is one of the former leaders of the Mexican drug cartel known as La Familia Michoacana,[1][2][3][4] headquartered in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Loya was arrested by the Mexican Army in Morelia, Michoacán along with other 60 cartel members on April 18, 2009 during a religious ceremony.[1] Plancarte, however, has since been released and is currently a leader of the La Familia offshoot known as the Knights Templar Cartel[5]

As of November 2011, he remains at large.[6] The Mexican government has offered a $3 million pesos (USD $2.3 million) bounty for information leading to his capture.[1][3][7]
